A shift in power, and yet no changes. Surprising? I think not.

Work has been ridiculously pointless these days. I ask you, Purgatorium, what good are all these crime-fighting organizations when we don't seem to succeed at all and there is no crime to fight?

In a place as hopeless as this hell, what is there really left to do? Wouldn't every human being strive for more comfort and safety? Then why do at least 70% of this place live on the lower level, where it isn't safe and housing is nearly worthless? Is it the will for punishment? Are you punishing yourself by staying here and doing nothing?

If there is any truth to the theories about the evolution of man, where are the people who try to work for a better tomorrow? Those who fight against the odds, just so they will achieve what they yearn for?

Everyone in this place has given up hope when it is supposedly human nature to strive, strive and strive. A hand smacking you down should only make you get up once again. Isn't that how man has managed to come this far in this universe? Trying to build. Trying to invent. Regardless of all higher powers that try to force you down... is it fear? Fear of God, that stops everyone from even trying?

I once knew a man who conquered that fear... who wasn't afraid to work towards his goal. Was he really the only one in this universe to have that courage?

Or perhaps, all of this is a farce. Maybe none of you are really alive here but merely images this hell has produced for me. My own personal hell. It does sound sort of lovely, doesn't it?

Oh, there's been crime. Unfortunately, it's too small for the big companies to take notice or care.

[identity profile] citrinitas-668.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 12:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Then that's worse. People declare war against becoming desensitized but no one actually cares when something happens? That's just pitiful.

[identity profile] citrinitas-668.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 12:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Tell me, where did or do those crimes happen? If the organizations aren't going to do anything about it, I would personally bring order into this mess.

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
My shop was robbed twice within a matter of days.

...Do excuse Alle, he's been in a bad mood lately =x

[identity profile] covert-chord.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't act as if we don't notice or care. It's difficult with the small amount of employees we have to police a city as big as this.

hello, rubedo-substitute

[identity profile] citrinitas-668.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't worry, I rarely include Celestial Being in my train of thought. You don't count as a serious organization.

What does Soma say about you again? Right. Terrorists. No one would want to rely on that kind of organization in the first place.

[identity profile] covert-chord.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
We are not terrorists.

Soma. Tch.

[identity profile] citrinitas-668.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, naturally you would deny these accusations. Don't worry, I'm not trying to make you confess. I know enough to have my own opinion about you.

[identity profile] covert-chord.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
To be honest, I'm getting sick to death of you and others throwing around that term like candy. You know nothing of us. Nothing we have done here so much as even slightly promotes terrorism.

[identity profile] ex-regenera246.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't let yourself get upset.

[identity profile] covert-chord.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
That's easy for you to say. After what we've had to deal with here, with how we've tried, yet nothing can ever get...

I'm getting sick of everything.

[identity profile] citrinitas-668.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Wasn't there a so-called kidnapping a while ago? Even as a joke, it does support your image. The fact that you do not do anything to fight crime despite your promises supports it as well, as you only seem to be acting when it's for your own benefit. Maybe you don't bomb other people right now, but your behavior is less than noble, I'll have you know that.

[identity profile] covert-chord.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
It. was. NOT. A. KIDNAPPING. Nor was ANY of it affiliated with--

If you really wanted us to "fight crime", stop these things, just go back to the way we used to be--

You're

You're a waste of time.

[identity profile] citrinitas-668.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I'm merely trying to find out what you are trying to do here. All I have seen of Celestial Being is crying over themselves and making empty promises. I would not mind working with you if you did something, for once.

But if you're just going to sit around and sob, you can't expect the least respect from me.

[identity profile] covert-chord.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Then tell me, what exactly would you have us do.

[identity profile] citrinitas-668.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently, there is series of robberies going on. Catch the culprit? Help those who lost something regain their goods or find compensation?

This B person that has been running around forever--if White Fang is so useless as to let him roam and commit crimes, why won't you step up and do something about it?

[identity profile] covert-chord.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I wasn't aware of any robberies, and a scan of the network shows that a little girl lost her hat, but I see nothing at all else mentioning a robbery.

B.

This place never does change. Wesker, Grantz, Hojo.

[identity profile] citrinitas-668.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
A shop was broken into a while ago as well and just because the network doesn't report every single thing, there is no excuse for neglecting these kinds of things. At least not as an organization who pretends to uphold peace.

But on a completely different note--if you're so bad at catching criminals and the like, why are you not trying to work on safety and comfort for the lower level in general? Have you noticed how there is no electricity or water here? And don't start with foolish excuses of "the gods won't let us"--gods aren't absolute, even in this place.

[identity profile] covert-chord.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
How were we supposed to know if it wasn't reported in any way whatsoever to us? Do you expect us to have eyes on the entire city?

And yet all the times people have tried, they've been punished or their projects destroyed.

Private

So's Maku... D: *ducks for cover*

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Pray tell, what precisely do you police?

I have publicly mentioned twice that my shop had been broken into twice. At least one more theft was mentioned. And who has stepped up and offered their assistance? Not Celestial being. Not White Fang. Civillians. So forgive me for having little faith in Purgatorium's companies. Could I have asked? Yes. But it is a shame that only the only attention any crime around here seems to get is the occasional murderer. And even that's rare.

[identity profile] covert-chord.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
You never said it explicitly, and with as many people there are in this place, things that aren't said in detail might accidentally be looked past. The last message you wrote that I've now come to understand was about your shop being robbed could just look like you were having a rough time there, to an outsider who didn't go through the comments there. You mentioned inventory, needing to find a guard, thought you were failing at a job. Where in there did it mention the theft?

This isn't a tiny city. We do what we can, but with the small amount of employees we have, we can't reach everywhere. We can help if crimes are actually reported, because again, we can't notice everything going on here. The reason we can go after the 'occasional murder' is because we know it's happening.

[identity profile] virtualunknown.livejournal.com 2008-10-06 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I assumed one could put the pieces together. Silly me.

And you never answered my inquiry. What do you do, then? Watch the network for voice posts of the dying? For the killers to boast?

Tell me three things your company has done to make this city safer, outside of patrols.
